Comprar means "to buy" and is a regular -ar verb. Alongside its opposite vender, it's essential for any conversation about shopping, money, or commerce.
Comprar is especially common in reflexive form: me compré un carro nuevo ("I bought myself a new car"). The reflexive pronoun adds a sense of personal involvement or benefit, and Spanish uses it far more often than English does with similar verbs.
