Questions & Answers about İnternetin getirdiği her kolaylık bizi ona daha çok bağımlı yapıyor.
This lesson is about '-makla beraber / birlikte'. How could we use that structure to express a similar idea?
You could rephrase the sentence as: İnternet bize kolaylık getirmekle birlikte, bizi kendine daha çok bağımlı yapıyor (While bringing us convenience, the internet makes us more dependent on it). This turns the relative clause into the concomitant converb you are currently studying, showing two simultaneous, contrasting facts about the internet.
Why do we use İnternetin getirdiği instead of a subject participle like getiren?
Because 'the internet' is the doer of the bringing, but it is not the 'convenience' itself. When the noun being described (convenience) is the object of the action, we use the -dİk participle. The doer takes the genitive suffix (İnternetin) and the verb takes a possessive suffix (getirdiği, literally 'its brought').
Why does the sentence use ona (dative) for 'on it' instead of onda (locative)?
The adjective bağımlı (dependent) specifically requires the dative case (-e/-a) to indicate what you are dependent on. Even though in English we say dependent 'on' it, Turkish grammar treats it as being bound 'to' it, hence ona.
Why isn't a causative verb suffix used here instead of yapıyor?
