Questions & Answers about Yeni istihdam yaratacak olan projeye ne kadar bütçe ayırdınız?
Why do we use yaratacak olan here instead of just yaratacak projeye?
While yaratacak projeye is grammatically correct and means the same thing, adding olan makes the relative clause more formal and structurally explicit. At a B2 level, you'll see -(y)AcAk olan (for the future) or -mIş olan (for the past) used frequently in professional or written Turkish to clearly separate the descriptive clause from the main noun.
Why is the word proje in the dative case (projeye)?
This is determined by the verb ayırmak, which means 'to separate', 'to set aside', or in this context, 'to allocate'. When you allocate resources to a target in Turkish, that target must take the dative case (-e/-a). Therefore, 'allocating to the project' is projeye ayırmak.
Since bütçe (budget) is the direct object being allocated, why doesn't it take the accusative case (bütçeyi)?
Because it is paired with ne kadar (how much). The phrase ne kadar bütçe asks about an unspecified, general amount of budget. The accusative case (-(y)i) is strictly used for specific, definite direct objects (e.g., if you were asking 'Did you allocate the budget?').
Is istihdam yaratmak a common set phrase for 'creating jobs'?
