Questions & Answers about Herhangi bir saatte çevrimiçi sisteme girilir mi?
Why is "girmek" in the passive form here if it doesn't take a direct object?
When Turkish applies the passive suffix to an intransitive verb (a verb that doesn't take an accusative direct object), it creates an impersonal passive. It means the action is done by people in general, or one. So girilir translates to one enters or entering happens.
Why does sistem take the dative suffix (sisteme) in a passive sentence?
In standard passives, the direct object becomes the new subject. However, impersonal passives don't have a subject at all! The original verb girmek requires the dative case to show what you are entering into. That dative object (sisteme) simply stays exactly the same when the verb becomes impersonal.
Why use the aorist tense (girilir) instead of the present continuous (giriliyor)?
This sentence is asking about a general rule, standard procedure, or timeless possibility (Does one enter at any hour?). The aorist is perfect for these broad facts. If it were giriliyor mu?, it would ask if people are entering the system right at this very moment.
Could I use hiçbir instead of herhangi bir to mean "any hour"?
No, hiçbir is strictly for negative sentences, meaning not any or none. Because this is a positive question asking about any random or whichever hour, you must use herhangi bir.
