Questions & Answers about Şu bir ev.
What is the difference between şu and o if they can both translate to "that"?
While o means "that" for things far away or out of sight, şu is used for things that are just a little out of reach, or things you are actively pointing at. You can think of şu as "that right there" and o as "that over there."
Where is the word for "is" in this sentence?
There isn't one! In simple Turkish sentences describing what a third-person subject ("he," "she," "it," or "that") is, you don't need a verb. You simply put the subject (Şu) and the noun (bir ev) next to each other, and the "is" is naturally understood.
