Doing Things Together (ด้วยกัน)
To express that an action is done collaboratively, place the adverb ด้วยกัน (together) at the end of the clause.

Sharing Expenses
When living together, roommates inevitably need to divide costs. Use the verb หาร (to share or divide) when splitting an expense (ค่าใช้จ่าย).
| If we live together, then we must split the expenses. | ถ้า เรา อยู่ ด้วยกัน เรา ก็ ต้อง หาร ค่าใช้จ่าย ค่ะ |
| We split the electricity and water bills. | เรา หาร ค่าไฟ กับ ค่าน้ำ ครับ |
To clarify who pays for what, use the verbs จัดการ (to manage or handle) or รับผิดชอบ (to be responsible for).

| I will handle the electricity bill every month. | ฉัน จะ จัดการ ค่าไฟ ทุก เดือน ค่ะ |
Dividing the Chores
Beyond bills, keeping the house clean requires shared duties (หน้าที่).

You will often talk about chores in tandem, contrasting who does what, such as washing clothes versus hanging them out to dry (ตาก).

You can also do these chores collaboratively, again placing ด้วยกัน at the end of the sentence.
