Questions & Answers about Analytikern ser en ny tendens i sektorn.
Why does the definite form of analytiker just add an -n instead of -en to make analytikern?
For most en-words ending in -er (especially occupations and nationalities), you only add an -n for the definite singular. Adding the full -en to make "analytikeren" is incorrect and would sound clumsy in Swedish.
Is sektorn formed using that exact same rule?
Yes! sektor is an en-word ending in an unstressed syllable (-or). Just like words ending in -er, it simply takes an -n in the definite singular to become sektorn.
This lesson focuses on connectors like därmed and således. Since this sentence is a simple statement, how could I naturally follow it up using one of those words?
You could add a second main clause to show the result of the analyst's observation. For example: Analytikern ser en ny tendens i sektorn, och därmed rekommenderar hon en förändring. (The analyst sees a new tendency in the sector, and therefore she recommends a change.)
If I started a follow-up sentence with Följaktligen (consequently), what happens to the word order?
