Why use estábamos analizando instead of just analizábamos?
Both can mean 'we were analyzing' in the past, but estábamos analizando (the past continuous) strongly emphasizes that the action was actively in progress at that exact moment. It paints a picture that you were right in the middle of doing it.
Why is it estadísticas de la población instead of población estadísticas?
In English, you can put nouns side by side so the first one acts like an adjective (like 'population statistics'). Spanish doesn't allow this noun-stacking. Instead, you almost always connect them with de, which translates to 'statistics of the population'.
Do I have to include Nosotros at the beginning?
