Nos importa la consigna. ¡Difundámosla!

Questions & Answers about Nos importa la consigna. ¡Difundámosla!

Why is the pronoun la attached to the end of difundámosla?
In affirmative commands, including 'let's' commands, object pronouns must be attached directly to the end of the verb. Since we want to say 'Let's spread it' (referring to the feminine noun la consigna), we attach la to difundamos to make difundámosla. If this were a negative command ('Let's not spread it'), the pronoun would go before the verb: ¡No la difundamos!
Why is there an accent mark on difundámosla?
When we say difundamos by itself, the natural spoken stress falls on the second-to-last syllable: di-fun-DA-mos. When we attach the pronoun la to the end, the word becomes longer. To keep the stress on that same a, we have to write an accent mark. You will need to add a written accent almost every time you attach a pronoun to an affirmative nosotros command.
How is the 'let's' command formed for this verb?
To say 'let's do something', we use the nosotros form of the present subjunctive. The verb here is difundir (to spread or broadcast). We drop the -ir ending and add the subjunctive ending -amos, giving us difundamos.
Why is the first sentence Nos importa la consigna instead of 'Importamos la consigna'?
The verb importar works just like gustar. Instead of saying 'We care about the slogan', Spanish phrases it backwards: 'The slogan matters to us'. Here, la consigna is the subject of the sentence doing the mattering, and nos is the indirect object telling us who it matters to.
