Ingredients and How They Behave
A perfume is built from different elements like esența (the essence) and moscul (the musk). When talking about how long a scent lasts, you will use the verb persista (to persist).
To give credit to a specific ingredient, you can use the preposition datorită (thanks to/due to). Note that it is always followed by the dative form of the noun (for example, moscului).

Applying the Perfume
To test a perfume, you will typically pulveriza (spray) it from flaconul (the flacon or bottle) onto a warm pulse point like încheietura (the wrist).
In Romanian, reflexive pronouns are frequently used for spontaneous actions or processes where something changes state. For example, the verb se evapora means "to evaporate" (literally "to evaporate itself"), and the past tense s-a simțit translates as "was felt" (literally "felt itself").

Notes and Polite Suggestions
Fragrances are described using different olfactory profiles, such as floral (floral) or lemnos (woody).
When discussing perfumes with customers or making sophisticated recommendations, you will often want to sound polite and refined. You can use the conditional mood for this, such as aș zice (I would say) or aș propune (I would propose).
