It is the conditional tense of the irregular verb fazer (to do or make) for nós (we). Regular verbs form the conditional by adding endings directly to the infinitive. However, fazer, dizer, and trazer are irregular: they drop the -ze- from the infinitive first. So fazer becomes the stem far-, and we add the nós ending -íamos to get faríamos.

Why use esse instead of aquele to say 'that'?
