Questions & Answers about Visto que a poluição aumenta, teremos implementado energia renovável.
Why is aumenta in the indicative rather than the subjunctive after Visto que?
Visto que means "since" or "seeing that" and is used to state an established fact or a cause. Because it introduces a concrete reality rather than a doubt, emotion, or hypothetical scenario, it takes the indicative (aumenta) instead of the subjunctive.
Why does this sentence use the Futuro Composto (teremos implementado) instead of the simple future?
The Futuro Composto (Future Perfect) translates to "will have done something". It shows that the action of implementing renewable energy will be fully completed by some implied point in the future. The simple future (implementaremos) would just mean "we will implement", without stressing that the implementation process will be finished.
The lesson mentions we can use ter or haver for this tense. Could we say haveremos implementado?
Yes, grammatically you can use haveremos implementado. However, in modern European Portuguese, ter is the standard auxiliary verb for all compound tenses. Using haver here sounds extremely formal or literary, so teremos is the much more natural choice.
Since energia renovável is feminine, shouldn't the past participle be implementada?
No. When forming compound tenses with ter or haver, the past participle always stays in its default masculine singular form (implementado). It never changes to agree with the subject or the direct object.
