Why do both esploreranno and abiteranno have an e in the middle instead of an a?
For regular -are verbs, the characteristic a changes to an e in the futuro semplice. That's why the stems for esplorare and abitare change to esplorer- and abiter- before adding the future endings.

Because spazio starts with an s followed by a consonant (p). Masculine nouns starting with this s + consonant combination always take the definite article lo instead of il.
Why isn't there an article before Marte (like sul Marte)?
