### The months of the year

To talk about when events happen, you need to know the twelve months (*i mesi*). In Italian, all months are masculine and are **not capitalized** unless they begin a sentence.

### Saying "in" a month

When saying that something happens "in" a certain month, drop the definite article. Instead, use either the preposition **a** or **in**. Both are correct and widely used interchangeably.
