Why does the sentence start with Ert instead of þú?
In Icelandic, to turn a statement into a yes/no question, you swap the subject (þú) and the verb (ert). So while 'You are' is Þú ert, 'Are you?' becomes Ert þú?
Why is it ert and not er?
The verb vera (to be) changes depending on the pronoun. With ég (I), hann (he), hún (she), and það (it), you use er, but specifically with þú (you), it changes to ert.
