Why doesn't Je pense que use the subjunctive here? We just learned about aimer que taking the subjunctive.
Even though Je pense que expresses an opinion, it introduces something you consider to be a fact, so it takes the normal indicative mood (s'abonne). Verbs of emotion like aimer que take the subjunctive because they express a feeling about an event, not a certainty. Note: If the sentence were negative (Je ne pense pas que), you would actually use the subjunctive!
Why is it personne ne s'abonne instead of personne ne s'abonne pas?
The word personne (nobody) is a negative pronoun that replaces pas. When it acts as the subject of the sentence, the structure is personne followed by ne and then the verb. Adding pas would create an incorrect double negative.
Why do we need the reflexive s' and the preposition à in s'abonne à?
In French, to subscribe to something is s'abonner à. It is a reflexive verb because you are literally subscribing yourself to the channel. If you just used abonner without the s', it would mean you are buying a subscription for someone else.
