How does the verb recevoir work in this sentence?
The verb recevoir (to receive) is a high-frequency irregular verb. For the vous (you) form, it becomes recevez. While it is an irregular verb, notice that it still uses the standard -ez ending that you use for almost all verbs in the vous form.
Why isn't there a cedilla (ç) in recevez, like there is in je reçois?
In French, the letter c automatically makes a soft s sound when it is followed by an e or an i. Because recevez has an e right after the c, it doesn't need a special accent. You only need the cedilla (ç) in forms like je reçois to force the soft s sound before an o or an a.
