Why is râ placed right after kasâni and before ke, instead of at the end of the relative clause?

Could the prepositional phrase dar in kampin go after the direct object?
Technically yes, but it would sound quite clunky. Because the direct object is a long relative clause (kasâni râ ke javân hastand), placing the short phrase dar in kampin (in this campaign) early in the sentence establishes the context smoothly and keeps the complex relative clause closer to the main verb.
