Questions & Answers about به ویرایشکننده بگو فایل را برای هدایتکننده بفرستد!
How do the words virâyeš-konande (editor) and hedâyat-konande (director) use the -ande suffix from this lesson?
Both come from compound verbs ending in kardan (to do). To make an agent noun (the person doing the action), you take the present stem of kardan, which is kon, and add the suffix -ande. So, virâyeš kardan (to edit) becomes virâyeš-konande (editor, or literally editing-doer).
What do the base words virâyeš and hedâyat mean before -konande is added?
They are the noun halves of their respective compound verbs. Virâyeš means editing or revision, and hedâyat means guidance or direction. Adding -konande to these nouns specifically refers to the person who performs those actions.
Why is the second verb, beferestad (send), in the subjunctive form here?
Because it is an indirect command. The sentence literally means Tell the editor that he should send the file. Whenever you tell, ask, or want someone to do something, the second verb must be in the subjunctive mood.
Why does the sentence use barâye (for) instead of be (to) before the director?
With the verb ferestâdan (to send), Farsi speakers very frequently use barâye to mean sending something to a person. It implies they are the intended recipient. While be works well for physical destinations, barâye is more natural when sending items to people.
Why are virâyeš-konande and hedâyat-konande written with a tiny gap before the -konande part?
That gap is called a half-space. In written Farsi, it is used in compound words to visually separate the base noun from the verb stem and suffix. It keeps the word unified as a single concept without letting the letters physically connect and become hard to read.
