Questions & Answers about من قرارداد را در بنگاه خواندهام.
How is the verb خواندهام formed to mean I have read?
This is the Present Perfect tense. It is built by taking the past stem of the verb خواندن (to read), which is خواند, and adding an ه to make the past participle خوانده. Finally, the short ending for I, which is ام, is attached to the end.
Why do we need the word را after قرارداد?
The word را is used to mark a specific direct object. Because the sentence says I have read the contract (a specific one) rather than just a general contract, we must put را immediately after the noun قرارداد.
Does بنگاه always mean a real estate agency?
The word بنگاه literally means agency or enterprise in general. However, in everyday conversational Farsi, if you mention signing a contract at a بنگاه, people automatically know you are using it as short for بنگاه املاک, which is a real estate agency.
Why is the location در بنگاه placed right before the verb?
In Farsi, the verb almost always goes at the very end of the sentence. The standard word order here is the subject من, followed by the direct object and its marker قرارداد را, then the location detail در بنگاه, and finally the verb خواندهام.
