The lesson says to use the prefix be- for commands. Why doesn't چاپ کنید have a be-?
Because چاپ کردن is a compound verb made of the noun چاپ (print) and the helper verb کردن (to do). With compound verbs using کردن, Farsi speakers almost always drop the be- prefix. You just take the present stem of کردن, which is کن, and add the plural/formal ending -id to make کنید.
Who exactly is this command spoken to?
The verb ending -id in چاپ کنید shows it is either addressed to more than one person (plural) or to one person in a formal, polite way, such as a boss or a coworker you are not close friends with.
Why do we need the word را after گزارش?
The word را is the specific direct object marker. It tells us that the action is happening to a specific, known thing. Because we are talking about 'the report' rather than just 'a report', we must put را right after گزارش.
Why is the command چاپ کنید at the very end? In English, commands usually start the sentence.
