Sommige is used because it directly modifies the noun gebouwen. You only use sommigen (with an -n) when it refers to people and stands completely alone, without a noun right after it.
Why does ingewikkeld get an -e at the end here (ingewikkelde)?
Constructie is a de-word (de constructie). When an adjective comes before a de-word, it always gets an -e ending, even when it follows the indefinite article een. It is easy to forget this at B2 level because een normally triggers no ending for het-words.
Why isn't there a second article before unieke architectuur?
Just like in English, you do not need to repeat the article een when connecting two parallel noun phrases with en. Additionally, architectuur is often treated as an uncountable abstract noun in Dutch, which naturally does not take een anyway.
