How exactly do we get Markov from the name Marko?
To show possession for masculine names, we usually add -ov or -ev. For Marko, you drop the final -o and add -ov to get the base Markov-. Because it acts like an adjective, it has to match the noun it describes. Since pas (dog) is a masculine singular noun in the nominative case, the possessive adjective is just Markov.
Both kliniku and cijepljenje are in the accusative case here. Why not the locative case?
Because there is motion toward a destination. The verb ići (to go) triggers the accusative case after prepositions like u (into) and na (onto/for) to show where the dog is going. If the dog were already resting at the clinic, you would use the locative case: u klinici.
Why do we use the preposition u for the clinic, but na for the vaccination?
