Huir: Full Conjugation

Huir means "to flee" or "to run away." It is the shortest -uir verb in common use, and its brevity makes the y insertion especially visible: in many forms the stem is nothing but hu-, and a y slides in to prevent awkward vowel sequences.

Use huir de to say what someone is fleeing from: huir del peligro, huir de casa. The pattern huir a indicates where they flee to: huyó al bosque.
