Nacer: Full Conjugation

Nacer means "to be born." It is a -cer verb whose only irregularity is the yo form of the present indicative, which ends in -zco (nazco) rather than -co. This change protects the soft c sound from becoming hard before -o or -a, so it spreads into the present subjunctive as well.

Unlike English "to be born," Spanish nacer is a non-reflexive, active verb. You say nací — literally "I was born" — without needing a passive construction or the verb ser.
