Questions & Answers about Hatırladığım kadarıyla, yöresel yemekleri sadece burada satıyorlar.
How exactly is hatırladığım kadarıyla built from the verb hatırlamak?
You take the verb stem hatırla-, add the participle ending -dık (which softens to -dığ), and attach the first-person possessive -ım (my). Then you add the fixed word kadarıyla (literally 'with its amount/extent'). Word-for-word, it is 'with the extent of my remembering', but it translates perfectly to 'as far as I remember'.
What does the -sel suffix do in the word yöresel?
The suffix -sel (or -sal) turns nouns into adjectives meaning 'related to' or 'pertaining to'. Since yöre means 'region' or 'local area', yöresel means 'regional'. You will see this suffix on many B2-level words, such as küresel (global) or duygusal (emotional).
Why is there an -i at the end of yemekleri?
The suffix -i is the definite accusative case marker. Because the sentence refers to 'the regional foods' as a specific direct object receiving the action of selling, we need to mark it. It shows that they sell these specific regional foods, not just regional foods in general.
Why does the sentence use the present continuous satıyorlar instead of the simple present or aorist satarlar?
