Questions & Answers about İkinci oturumda başlayacak panel çok uzun.
How do we know başlayacak means "that will start" here, rather than "it will start"?
Because it sits directly in front of the noun panel, it acts as an adjective describing the panel. This is the future subject relative participle. If it were the main verb of the sentence, it would normally be placed at the very end.
Why isn't there a personal ending attached to başlayacak?
Because panel is the subject of the action, meaning it is the thing that will start. When the noun being described is doing the action, we just use the plain -(y)AcAk participle. You only need personal suffixes for object relative clauses, like if you wanted to say "the panel that I will watch".
Why is the phrase İkinci oturumda placed at the very beginning?
In Turkish, all descriptive information must come before the noun it modifies. The entire phrase İkinci oturumda başlayacak (that will start in the second session) works together as one big adjective describing the noun panel.
Why is there a -y- in the middle of başlayacak?
The root is the verb başlamak (to start). Because its stem başla- ends in a vowel, it needs the buffer letter -y- before attaching the future participle suffix -AcAk, resulting in başlayacak.
