We use the aorist tense to ask about general facts and habits. The verb root yap (to do) takes the aorist suffix -ar, becoming yapar. Then we add the separate question particle mı.

The subject öğrenciler is plural. Why is the verb yapar in the singular form instead of yaparlar?

In Turkish, when a plural subject is stated explicitly with a plural suffix (like -ler in öğrenciler), the verb can remain in the third-person singular form. You could say yaparlar mı, but leaving the verb singular is very common and sounds perfectly natural.

Why do we say laboratuvarın içinde instead of just laboratuvarda?

Laboratuvarda simply means "in the laboratory" or "at the laboratory." By using laboratuvarın içinde (literally "at the inside of the laboratory"), the sentence specifically emphasizes the physical interior space. It uses the genitive-possessive structure: laboratuvar-ın (of the lab) and iç-i-n-de (at its inside).

The English translation says "experiments", but deney is singular. Shouldn't it be deneyler?
