The word hevesli (eager) requires the dative case to show what someone is eager about. To do this, we first turn the verb çalışmak (to work) into a noun by dropping the -k to get çalışma. Then we add the buffer -y- and the dative ending -a.

Isn't -ma the negative suffix? How do I know çalışma doesn't mean do not work?
