Why is it otele instead of just otel?
The suffix -e acts like the English word 'to'. Because the action is directed towards the hotel, we add the dative suffix to otel to make otele (to the hotel). It is -e instead of -a because the last vowel in otel is 'e', which follows the rules of two-way vowel harmony.
How do we know dönme is a negative command?
The dictionary form of the verb is dönmek (to return). By dropping the -mek ending, we get the positive command dön (return!). Adding the negative suffix -me turns it into dönme (do not return!).
