Siz müzik dinleyin, film izlemeyin.

From Lesson 26:Basic word order·Turkish

Questions & Answers about Siz müzik dinleyin, film izlemeyin.

How does the Subject-Object-Verb order work across the two halves of this sentence?
The word Siz (you) is the Subject for both halves. In Turkish, you usually put the Subject at the very beginning. Then we have Object-Verb (müzik dinleyin) and another Object-Verb (film izlemeyin). You do not need to repeat Siz for the second part!
Why do the verbs end in -yin instead of just being dinle and izleme?
Because the subject is Siz (you, plural or formal). The basic command form for a single, casual "you" is just the verb root (dinle, izleme). Adding -yin makes the command polite or plural to match Siz.
Where is the "do not" part of izlemeyin?
The -me in the middle of izlemeyin makes it negative. It breaks down to izle (watch) + me (do not) + yin (you, plural/formal ending). The added y in the middle is just a buffer letter to keep the two vowels from bumping into each other.
Why do müzik and film have no suffixes if they are the objects of the sentence?
Because they are general, not specific. When you say "listen to music" or "watch a movie" in general, you use the bare noun. If you were telling someone to watch a specific movie you were just talking about, you would add a specific object suffix (filmi).
