To express that something is "just right" or fits perfectly, use the modifier พอดี. Placed after a stative verb (like length or size), it indicates an exact, ideal match. This is especially useful for clothing, such as describing a well-fitted sleeve (แขนเสื้อ) or a form-fitting cut (เข้ารูป).
| The sleeves are the perfect length. | แขนเสื้อ ยาว พอดี ค่ะ |
| This shirt fits perfectly. | เสื้อ ตัว นี้ เข้ารูป พอดี ครับ |
Exact Quantities
You can also use พอดี to modify quantities. Placed after a number and classifier, it translates to "exactly" that amount.
| There are exactly ten shirts. | มี เสื้อ สิบ ตัว พอดี ค่ะ |
Perfect Timing and Coincidence
พอดี also expresses exactness in time. At the end of a clause, it means "just in time," "at that exact moment," or that an action happens coincidentally. Pair it with จังหวะ (timing or moment) for events that align flawlessly.
| He arrived at that exact moment. | เขา มา ถึง จังหวะ นั้น พอดี ครับ |
It works seamlessly with continuous actions to express that someone "happens to be" doing something right at that moment:

Discussing Alterations
When visiting a tailor (ช่างตัดเสื้อ), you often discuss how a garment matches your proportions (สัดส่วน) or its overall cut (ทรง). If the fit isn't right, you might need them to let it out (ขยาย).
