Questions & Answers about Du kan dra skärmen nedåt och lite hitåt.
Why does this sentence use nedåt instead of just ner or ned?
The suffix -åt emphasizes a general trajectory or direction rather than a specific endpoint. If you used ner, it might imply pulling the screen all the way down to a set destination. nedåt translates more closely to 'downward'.
What is the difference in meaning between hit and hitåt here?
The word hit means exactly to your location as a specific destination. hitåt means 'in this direction' or 'this way'. Since you just want the screen angled or moved generally towards you rather than placed in your lap, hitåt is the perfect fit.
Is dra the most natural verb to use for adjusting a screen?
Yes, dra (which literally means pull or drag) is the standard Swedish verb for physically moving or adjusting items on tracks or arms, such as monitors, projector screens, or window blinds.
Why is the word for 'a little' spelled lite here instead of litet?
When used as an adverb modifying another word to mean 'a little' or 'slightly', the fixed form is lite. You only use litet when it acts as an adjective describing a neuter noun (an ett word), like in ett litet bord (a small table).
