Questions & Answers about Redigeringen av storfilmen hade redan börjat.
Why does redan come between hade and börjat?
In a main clause, sentence adverbs like redan (already) are placed immediately after the finite verb (the conjugated one, which is hade here). This naturally splits the auxiliary verb and the main verb börjat.
Is storfilmen the standard way to say "blockbuster"?
Yes! Swedish loves building compound words. By combining stor (big/great) and film (movie), you get storfilm, which is the direct equivalent of a blockbuster or major motion picture. The -en at the end makes it definite.
How is the word redigeringen formed?
It comes from the verb redigera (to edit). Adding the suffix -ing turns it into a noun, redigering (editing). Finally, adding the definite article -en to the end makes it redigeringen (the editing).
Could I use startat instead of börjat in this sentence?
Yes, you could say hade redan startat. Both börja and starta mean to begin or start. Börja is the most common and versatile choice, while starta is often used for machines, projects, or specific events, making both completely natural for a movie production.
