In Spanish, direct object pronouns like lo (it or him), la (it or her), los (them), and las (them) usually go right before the conjugated verb. So instead of saying "I see it", the structure is literally "it I see" (lo veo).

Why use lo here instead of la?

The pronoun lo replaces el museo (the museum). Since museo is a masculine noun, you must use the masculine pronoun lo. If you were talking about a feminine noun like la casa (the house), you would use la instead: No la veo (I do not see it).

Why are there two no words in No, no lo veo?

The first No simply answers the question, just like in English. The second no makes the action negative ("I do not see"). In Spanish, the negative no must go before both the object pronoun and the verb.
