Why is it "tu" instead of "tus", since the word "we" is plural?
In Spanish, possessive adjectives like tu (your) match the thing being owned, not the owner. Even though "we" have it, there is only one key (llave). Because the key is singular, we use the singular tu. If we had multiple keys, it would be tus llaves.
Does "tu" change because "llave" is a feminine word?
No. The possessive adjective tu only changes based on quantity (singular or plural). It stays exactly the same whether the noun is feminine (like tu llave) or masculine (like tu libro). Out of all the possessive adjectives you are learning, only nuestro (our) changes to match gender.
Why doesn't "tu" have an accent mark over the "u" in this sentence?
