Learn Russian: Через год владелец получит свою долю имущества. - In a year, the owner will receive his share of the property.

It follows долю (a share or a portion). Just like the specific fraction nouns in this lesson (половина, треть, четверть), the word доля is a noun that requires the Genitive case for the thing being divided. So, доля имущества literally translates to "a share of the property".

Why use свою instead of его for "his"?

In Russian, when the subject of the sentence (владелец) is the same person who owns the object, you must use the reflexive possessive pronoun свой. If we used его, it would mean the owner is receiving someone else's share. Свою is in the Accusative case, feminine, to match the direct object долю.

Does через год literally mean "through a year"?

The preposition через does mean "through" or "across" for physical space, but when used with expressions of time in the Accusative case, it means "in" or "after" a certain amount of time. So через год is the standard way to say "in a year" or "one year from now".

Why is the verb получит in the perfective aspect?

The perfective aspect is used here because receiving the share is a single, completed action that produces a specific result in the future. The owner isn't in a continuous or repeated process of receiving it; they will get it once and the action will be done.
