Questions & Answers about Вечером я созвонюсь с твоим братом.
Why does the verb созвонюсь end in -сь instead of -ся?
The base verb is созвониться, which is a reciprocal verb meaning "to call each other" or "to get on a call." When conjugated for я (I), the ending is a vowel (-ю). In Russian, the reflexive particle -ся shrinks to -сь after a vowel.
Is созвонюсь in the present or future tense?
It is in the future tense. Созвониться is a perfective verb, which means it focuses on a completed result. When you conjugate a perfective verb using standard present-tense endings, it automatically creates the future tense: "I will get on a call."
Why is it твоим братом instead of твой брат?
Reciprocal verbs describing an action done together with someone use the preposition с (with) followed by the Instrumental case. To say "with your brother," the basic phrase твой брат changes to the Instrumental с твоим братом.
Why does вечер (evening) end in -ом here?
The Instrumental case is also used to turn parts of the day into expressions of time. Adding the Instrumental ending -ом to вечер changes it from the noun "evening" to "in the evening."
