Мы посмотрим текст с переводчиком.

From Lesson 69:Accompaniment (с)·Russian

Questions & Answers about Мы посмотрим текст с переводчиком.

Why is the word for translator переводчиком instead of just переводчик?
Because it follows the preposition с (meaning "with"). This preposition requires the noun to be in the Instrumental case. For masculine nouns that end in a consonant like переводчик, you add the ending -ом to make it переводчиком.
Does с переводчиком mean we are looking at it together with a person, or using a translation app?
Here, it usually means you are looking at the text together with a human translator or interpreter. The preposition с specifically means "with" as in accompaniment (doing something together). If you wanted to say you were translating it by means of a tool or app, you would drop the с and just use the Instrumental case by itself.
Why doesn't текст change its ending if it is the direct object of the sentence?
текст is in the Accusative case because it's the direct object (the thing being looked at). However, for masculine inanimate nouns (objects and concepts, not living beings), the Accusative case form is exactly the same as the Nominative (dictionary) form. Therefore, текст does not change.
Why does посмотрим mean "will look" instead of "are looking"?
посмотрим is a perfective verb, which means it focuses on the completion or result of an action. In Russian, when you add present-tense endings (like -им for "we") to a perfective verb, it automatically becomes the future tense ("we will look"). To say "we are looking" right now, you would use the imperfective verb: мы смотрим.
