Questions & Answers about Sora mea face gimnastică.
Why is the word for sister sora instead of soră?
When you use a possessive word like mea (my), the noun before it needs to have the definite article (the equivalent of "the") attached to the end. The base word is soră, and adding the definite article makes it sora (the sister). You are literally saying "the sister my".
Why does mea come after the noun?
In Romanian, possessive adjectives like mea (my, feminine singular) usually come right after the noun they belong to, rather than before it like they do in English.
Does the verb face mean "does" or "makes"?
The versatile verb a face covers both "to do" and "to make". In the context of sports, hobbies, or general activities like gimnastică, it translates to "does".
