In Romanian, we achieve this diplomatic distance by using the Present Conditional. Instead of directly stating "I say" or "I want," you can frame your thoughts as "I would say" (**aș zice**) or "I would propose" (**aș propune**).

### Stating Your Perspective

The present conditional is built simply by combining a special auxiliary verb with the infinitive form of the main verb (dropping the particle **a**). 

To state your own perspective ("I would"), use the auxiliary **aș**. For the third person ("he/she/it/they would"), use **ar**.

Notice how these conditional assertions are often followed by **că** (that) to introduce an opinion, or by **să** (the subjunctive marker) to suggest an action.

### Inviting Input

When discussing terms, you will frequently invite the other party to share their perspective. To ask "what would you say/propose?", use the auxiliary **ați** for the polite or plural "you".

### Representing the Team
