Giving Plural Commands
When giving instructions to a group—like a team of event volunteers—use the plural imperative.
An affirmative plural command in Romanian is identical to the present tense voi (you all) form. Regardless of the verb's conjugation group, this form ends in -ți.
| Place the chairs in three rows! | Așezați scaunele în trei rânduri! |
| Place the equipment on the stand! | Așezați echipamentul pe stand! |
Managing the Event
Use the same -ți ending to give clear instructions for distributing materials or setting up.
| Distribute the brochures now! | Distribuiți broșurile acum! |
| Leave a brochure and a badge on the table! | Lăsați o broșură și un ecuson pe masă! |
Welcoming and Guiding
Verbs like a întâmpina (to welcome) and a ghida (to guide) follow the exact same rule.
| Welcome the participants at the entrance! | Întâmpinați participanții la intrare! |
| Guide the guests to the stand! | Ghidați invitații la stand! |
Other common verbs, such as a aduce (to bring), also take the standard -ți ending.
| Bring a document of the coordinator! | Aduceți un document al coordonatorului! |
Attaching Object Pronouns
When a command involves a short-form direct object pronoun (like "him"), attach the pronoun directly to the end of the imperative verb with a hyphen.
For example, to say "Help him!", combine the plural command ajutați (help) with the pronoun -l (him) to make ajutați-l.
| Help the coordinator immediately! | Ajutați-l pe coordonator imediat! |
