### Going to bed

**Perna** (the pillow), **pătura** (the blanket), **pijamaua** (the pajamas) and **deșteptătorul** (the alarm clock, from *a deștepta*, an older word for waking someone up). Note that *pijama* is singular in Romanian: **o pijama** is one pair of pajamas.

### Nouns in stressed -a and -ea

Three of this lesson's nouns end in a stressed vowel, like *cafea* and *canapea*. They take **-ua** in the definite and **-le** in the plural:

### Give it to me

### Putting in, warming up, shaving

**Băga** is the everyday verb for putting something *into* something: *bag, bagi, bagă, băgăm, băgați, bagă*. **Încălzi** goes like *vorbi*: *încălzesc, încălzești, încălzește*. **Rade** means to shave (off): *rad, razi, rade*, past participle **ras**. With **se** it is shaving yourself, like *se bărbieri*. Do not confuse it with *râde* (to laugh).

### Underneath

**Dedesubt** is an adverb and stands without a noun: *vecinii de dedesubt* (the neighbors downstairs), *pe dedesubt* (underneath, of clothes). In front of a noun, use *sub*: *sub pat*.
