How exactly do you use zarówno ... jak i ... in this sentence?
It connects two equal parts of a sentence to mean "both X and Y". Here, it connects the two adjectives komunikatywny and miły. Notice that zarówno goes immediately before the first adjective, and you must always place a comma before the jak i part in Polish.
Why are komunikatywny and miły in the nominative case? Doesn't the verb "to be" (będzie) require the instrumental case?
That is a very common trap! The verb być (to be) takes the instrumental case when you follow it with a noun, or an adjective attached to a noun (like "a nice candidate"). But when it is followed by only adjectives describing the subject, as in this sentence, those adjectives must stay in the nominative case.
Why is there a comma before że?
Polish punctuation rules are very strict about clauses. You must always put a comma before the conjunction że (that) when it introduces a new part of the sentence.
Does the verb oczekujemy (we expect) always need to be followed by że?
