Questions & Answers about Marku, nie zgadzam się na twoją toksyczną manipulację.
Why is it twoją toksyczną manipulację in the Accusative case instead of the Genitive case, since the sentence is negative?
This is the prepositional constraint on the Genitive of Negation! The rule that changes a negated direct object into the Genitive case does not apply if there is a preposition involved. Because the noun phrase follows the preposition na, it stays in the Accusative case, exactly as it would in a positive sentence.
Why use the preposition na here instead of z for the verb to agree?
The verb zgadzać się takes different prepositions depending on the meaning. You use zgadzać się z (plus the Instrumental case) when you share an opinion with someone. You use zgadzać się na (plus the Accusative case) when you are giving consent or submitting to an action, which fits this sentence perfectly.
Why is the name spelled Marku instead of Marek?
Marku is the Vocative case of Marek, used here because the speaker is directly addressing him. Notice that the letter e in Marek is a fleeting vowel that drops out when suffixes are added, giving us the stem Mark-. For masculine names, we then add the Vocative ending -u.
Why does the noun manipulację end in -ę while its adjectives twoją toksyczną end in -ą?
