Questions & Answers about Nowe seminaria są bardzo nudne.
Why does the plural of seminarium become seminaria instead of just adding a standard plural ending?
Neuter nouns of Latin origin ending in -um (like seminarium, centrum, or muzeum) behave in a special way. They are completely indeclinable in the singular, but in the plural, they drop the -um and take regular neuter plural endings. The nominative plural ending for neuter nouns is -a, which gives us seminaria.
Why do the adjectives nowe and nudne end in -e here?
In the plural, Polish adjectives are split into two categories: masculine personal (used for groups with at least one man) and non-masculine personal (used for everything else, including women, animals, and objects). Since seminaria is a neuter plural noun, it falls into the non-masculine personal category, so its adjectives take the ending -e.
Is there a reason bardzo comes right before nudne? Could they be swapped?
Adverbs of degree like bardzo (very) strongly prefer to sit directly before the adjective they modify. While Polish word order is generally flexible for emphasis, putting bardzo after the adjective (e.g., są nudne bardzo) would sound quite unnatural and clunky to a native speaker.
