z jednej strony … on the other hand

z drugiej strony — on the one hand … on the other hand. Both are z + Genitive (strony). The second half can stand alone to introduce an objection.

Adding a point

besides, apart from that

poza tym — besides, apart from that — adds a further argument.

above all, first of all

przede wszystkim — above all, first of all — names the most important one. Note the form przede (with -e) before wszystkim.

not only (nie tylko..., ale także...)

nie tylko … but also

ale także — not only … but also. The two halves frame parallel elements of the same kind: two nouns, two verbs, two adjectives.

Also — three registers

You know też. also, too (written; a także = as well as)

także is its written, slightly more formal equivalent, and also, likewise (formal)

również is more formal still (likewise, as well). All three sit right after the element they add: Ona także pracuje w banku.

Conceding

despite that, nevertheless

mimo to — despite that, nevertheless — refers back to the previous sentence. Do not confuse it with mimo że (although), which opens a clause.

in any case, anyway

w każdym razie — in any case, anyway — closes the discussion whatever the outcome.
