Weighing two sides

z jednej strony … z drugiej strony — on the one hand … on the other hand. Both are z + Genitive (strony). The second half can stand alone to introduce an objection.

Adding a point

poza tym — besides, apart from that — adds a further argument.

przede wszystkim — above all, first of all — names the most important one. Note the form przede (with -e) before wszystkim.

nie tylko … ale także — not only … but also. The two halves frame parallel elements of the same kind: two nouns, two verbs, two adjectives.

Also — three registers

You know też. także is its written, slightly more formal equivalent, and również is more formal still (likewise, as well). All three sit right after the element they add: Ona także pracuje w banku.

Conceding

mimo to — despite that, nevertheless — refers back to the previous sentence. Do not confuse it with mimo że (although), which opens a clause.

w każdym razie — in any case, anyway — closes the discussion whatever the outcome.
