Questions & Answers about Arbeiten Sie auch hier?
Why does the verb Arbeiten end in -en instead of -st?
Because it is paired with Sie, the formal word for you. The formal Sie always takes the -en ending. If you were asking a friend, you would use the informal du and say Arbeitest du auch hier?
How can I tell if Sie means you, she, or they?
The capital S is the giveaway! The formal you is always capitalized in German, even in the middle of a sentence. It cannot mean she because the verb is arbeiten instead of arbeitet. It could technically mean they since both use the -en ending, but when speaking directly to someone, it means formal you.
Why is there no word for Do in this sentence?
German does not use helper words like do to ask questions. Instead, you just swap the subject and the verb. Sie arbeiten means You work, so flipping it to Arbeiten Sie naturally changes it into the question Do you work?
Does auch usually go before hier?
