Questions & Answers about Le sport est bon pour le corps.
Why is it le sport and not just sport like in the English translation?
In French, when you talk about general concepts, broad categories, or things as a whole, you must use a definite article (le, la, or les). Since we are talking about sport in general, it has to be le sport.
Could I use bien instead of bon here?
Why does corps have an s at the end if we are only talking about one body?
Do I pronounce the p or the s at the end of corps?
Neither! Both the p and the s are completely silent. The word is pronounced roughly like the English word "core."
