Questions & Answers about Novembre et décembre sont des mois froids.

Why aren't November and December capitalized in French?
In French, the names of months and days of the week are not capitalized unless they are the very first word of a sentence. Since Novembre is at the start here, it gets a capital letter, but décembre stays lowercase.
Why is there a des before mois? The English translation doesn't have an article.
In French, almost all nouns need an article before them, even in the plural. While in English we can just say "cold months" with no article, in French you must use the plural indefinite article des (which roughly means "some").
Does the word mois (month) look different when it is singular?
No, it looks exactly the same! Because the singular word un mois already ends in an "s", you do not add another one to make it plural. You can tell it is plural here because of the plural article des and the verb sont (are).
Why is froids placed after mois?
In English, adjectives usually come before the noun, like "cold months". In French, most adjectives are placed after the noun they describe. Notice that froids also has an "s" at the end so it matches the plural noun mois.
